These stories are made for you
not by one head, but by two
Their younger years are past tense
But staying young is an art.
One loves to draw, The other to write.
Grandpas who are kids at heart!
About the Author: Paul Meincke
Paul Meincke is a retired broadcast journalist having spent the vast majority of his 44-year career as a general assignment reporter for WLS-TV Chicago. He's covered wars, political corruption, and more snowfalls than he cares to remember. Amidst that chaotic
potpourri, Paul maintained a measure of sanity by often penning limericks and other irreverent verse while on company time. His bosses were only mildly amused.
Well before the author and illustrator began their collaboration, Larry - a man off many talents - installed new basement windows at Paul's house. That was over 30 years ago. The windows have never leaked. Paul is eternally grateful.
About the Artist: Larry Herweg
About Larry, it's been said,
The man digs
His sourdough bread!
He also digs music of all kinds, but long ago, it was art that captured his heart. Larry entered the working world with a degree in fine arts and would go on to manage a large advertising art studio in Chicago. During his life's journey, Larry has also shown himself as something of a jack-of-all-trades. He's worked as a carpenter, heavy equipment operator and ran his own window and door installation company. (Thus, his visit to Paul's basement.). Who would have known back then that Larry and Paul would one day link their passions?
